Quality Labs Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Labs Supervisor ensures that all incoming raw materials and outgoing packed products meet Unilever’s microbiological and hygiene standards. This role monitors manufacturing hygiene compliance, acts as a reference for microbiological behavior on site, and supports product safety across the factory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and monitor microbiological standards for raw materials, work‑in‑process and finished products.
• Develop, review and execute test regimes, releasing materials based on successful results.
• Analyse development samples, packed products and consumer complaint samples, recommending process changes.
• Validate and verify cleaning processes, proposing corrective actions when needed.
• Conduct hygiene and food‑safety audits, coordinate corrective action plans with Quality and Production teams.
• Ensure immediate corrective actions for non‑conformances that could risk product safety.
• Perform microbiological testing on trade returns, raw materials, in‑process and packed products, and decide on stock returns.
• Coordinate training and awareness programmes on microbiology and hygiene for site teams.

Required profile

• Experience in microbiological testing and product safety within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of hygiene standards, cleaning validation and food‑safety audit procedures.
• Ability to interpret test results and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills to train and raise awareness among site personnel.
