Remote Physics Professor (Task‑Based, Short‑Term)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Physics Professor to design, solve, and document challenging physics problems that will be used to evaluate and improve large language models (LLMs). This short‑term, task‑based contract offers flexibility while contributing to cutting‑edge AI research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve physics problems spanning undergraduate to PhD‑level topics for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with well‑articulated reasoning.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to develop evaluation tasks targeting model weaknesses.
• Define new physics benchmark suites and provide detailed annotations.
• Explain physics concepts using simple language, visuals, and logical reasoning.
• Provide constructive feedback and detailed reasoning for AI evaluation workflows.

Required profile

• Master's, PhD, or post‑doctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience explaining complex physics concepts clearly.
• Creative and lateral thinking with excellent written communication.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

• Compensation of $250 per approved task.
• Flexible remote work with up to 40 hours per week and a required 4‑hour overlap with PST.
