Senior Accountant Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant Specialist to lead financial accounting and reporting for our EdTech platform operating under Egyptian regulations. The role combines core ledger management, revenue recognition, tax compliance, and financial analysis to support rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with Egyptian Accounting Standards.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing, including full reconciliations of balance‑sheet and P&L accounts.
• Handle revenue recognition for one‑time sales, subscription plans, B2B contracts and freemium conversions, and reconcile payments from gateways such as Fawry, Paymob, Visa/Mastercard, and mobile wallets.
• Track and record deferred revenue, manage vendor payables, and oversee instructor payout cycles.
• Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, manage withholding tax for local and foreign parties, and coordinate annual corporate tax filings.
• Implement internal controls for refunds, chargebacks and fraud prevention, and support internal and external audits.
• Provide variance analysis on key platform metrics and collaborate with operations and product teams to ensure accurate financial data flow.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within a technology or digital services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards and tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage complex revenue models and multi‑entity reporting.
• Excellent analytical mindset with attention to detail.
