Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will join the Levant internal audit team, based in Cairo, reporting to the Internal Audit Manager Egypt. The role supports the delivery of risk‑based audit plans across Egypt and the wider Levant, covering operations, finance, compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Internal Audit Manager in detailed planning of audit engagements.
• Execute audit assignments individually or as part of a team, handling both complex and routine projects.
• Communicate audit findings effectively and develop resolutions with stakeholders.
• Prepare audit reports with recommendations for business managers.
• Track and follow up on open issues and key initiatives.
• Consult clients on project‑management improvements and best practices.
• Manage audit projects within assigned budget and timeline, explaining any variances.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior audiences, the Board and regulators.
• Maintain positive relationships with auditees and key business contacts.
• Update audit information in the Open Pages audit management tool.
• Stay informed about changes in the business environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, insurance, actuarial science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of internal or external audit, finance, or actuarial experience in the financial services sector, preferably insurance or pensions.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted audit standards, IIA standards and internal audit standards.
• Full audit‑lifecycle experience from planning to close‑out, including documentation and report writing.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
• Professional qualifications such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CISA, CFSA, CFE, or progress toward one.
