Senior Legal Manager

About the role

The Senior Legal Manager will lead the legal function for Majid Al Futtaim Retail, ensuring effective legal services, advice and representation across the organisation. Reporting to senior leadership, the role oversees the development and execution of the legal strategy and supports business units on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice and representation to internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Develop, implement and monitor the overall legal strategy for the retail and e‑commerce divisions.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of external counsel as required.
• Advise business and regulatory functions on contractual, compliance and data‑related issues.
• Lead, mentor and manage the in‑house legal team, fostering collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
• Influence senior stakeholders and navigate ambiguous environments to mitigate legal risk.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (mandatory); an MBA is an advantage.
• 10+ years of legal experience, including in‑house roles within retail or supply‑chain environments.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a large‑scale retail organisation, preferably with exposure to GCC markets.
• Strong understanding of e‑commerce and retail operations, including data governance, quality and security.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Fluent in English and Arabic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
