Senior Software Engineer – Java & GCP

About the role

Capgemini is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Java applications on Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with project architects and a multidisciplinary team to deliver scalable solutions for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project architects to define and manage technical solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain Java‑based applications, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in existing applications.
• Act as a functional referent and ensure technical quality across the team.
• Lead the team technically and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related field (preferred).
• 5 to 9 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented principles and software design.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• Analytical mindset with solid problem‑solving abilities.
