Squad Lead – Java (French Speaker)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Squad Lead with strong Java expertise and fluency in French to drive a high‑performing development team on a large‑scale telecom project. You will own the technical direction, ensure delivery excellence, and act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the engineering squad.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a squad of Java developers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Design, develop and deliver scalable, high‑performance applications using Java 11/17 and Spring technologies.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders to define and implement technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, security best practices and maintain high code quality.
• Break down business requirements into technical tasks, plan sprints and track delivery.
• Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies and support CI/CD implementation.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues and ensure Agile/Scrum processes are followed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of Java development experience and 2+ years leading software development teams or Agile squads.
• Fluent French (mandatory) and professional English communication skills.
• Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder management and analytical problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Java 11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security.
• Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event‑driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• SQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Git, Agile/Scrum practices, design patterns, SOLID principles, multithreading and performance optimization.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – preferred.
