Steel Structural Engineer – Remote

About the role

DOTec Corp. is seeking a remote Steel Structural Engineer to join its design team. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality structural designs that comply with U.S. codes while collaborating with senior engineers and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and mixed systems using U.S. design codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Develop, review, and update structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
• Create and validate structural models with industry‑standard software.
• Coordinate with senior engineers to resolve design challenges and ensure constructability.
• Review and guide the work of junior engineers, providing technical feedback.
• Apply value‑engineering principles to optimize solutions and meet project schedules.
• Maintain organized project documentation and adhere to internal quality‑control procedures.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a public university (Master’s a plus).
• Strong understanding of structural behavior, load paths, and design principles.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• FE Exam passed; PE licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers is preferred.
