Structural Engineer – Computational Design Technologies (CDT)

About the role

Dar is looking for a Structural Engineer with strong computational design expertise to join its Digital Practice team in Cairo. You will create and integrate advanced automation workflows, scripts and plugins into structural engineering projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement computational design solutions for structural projects using visual programming tools.
• Create automation workflows and custom tools to streamline design and analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to embed computational design into delivery processes.
• Research, evaluate and adopt new plugins, software and modelling techniques.
• Lead training sessions on digital workflows and computational tools.
• Coordinate with consultants, internal teams and stakeholders on digital engineering initiatives.
• Present technical solutions and lead meetings with project partners.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges related to computational design and structural analysis.
• Continuously explore innovative technologies to improve efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (master’s in computational design is a plus).
• 2–5 years of experience focused on design technology, computational design and visual programming.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present technical concepts.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting aptitude.

Required skills

• SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ETABS.
• Rhino, Grasshopper, Rhino.Inside.Revit, Dynamo.
• Python, C# and APIs for structural engineering software.
• AutoCAD and traditional CAD workflows.
