Tax Accountant – Corporate Tax & VAT Specialist

About the role

GPX Egypt is looking for a Tax Accountant to lead tax planning, compliance and reporting activities. The role will support the finance team in optimizing the company’s tax position and ensuring accurate statutory filings.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
• Provide insights on regulatory changes impacting taxation.
• Prepare and file corporate tax returns, VAT and other statutory reports.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation.
• Ensure tax compliance aligns with financial reporting standards.
• Support accurate tax provisions in financial statements.
• Collaborate with finance, legal and operations teams on tax matters.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations and deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in tax accounting or corporate taxation.
• Hands‑on experience with tax filings, audits and compliance processes.
• Exposure to both local and international tax regulations.
• Experience preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.
• Familiarity with transfer pricing, VAT and indirect taxes.
• Background working with auditors and regulatory authorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
