Taxation Specialist

About the role

The Taxation Specialist ensures full compliance with Egyptian tax laws by preparing, reviewing, and submitting corporate income tax and VAT filings on time. You will act as the primary liaison with tax authorities, auditors, and internal teams, managing tax risks and supporting audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review annual corporate income tax returns in line with applicable laws.
• Prepare, submit, and ensure timely payment of monthly VAT returns.
• Review sales and purchase invoices for correct tax treatment.
• Monitor and reconcile input VAT balances, including refundable or deductible amounts.
• Maintain compliance with all filing and payment deadlines to avoid penalties.
• Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate impacts to finance management.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and examinations.
• Communicate with the Egyptian Tax Authority and other governmental entities.
• Provide tax‑related guidance to other departments as needed.
• Handle electronic tax filings through the Egyptian Tax Authority system using SAP.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in taxation, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax laws (Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax) and familiarity with UAE and Saudi tax regulations.
• Experience with tax audits or inspections is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Working knowledge of SAP for tax filing.
