Technical Manager Europe

About the role

We are looking for a strategic leader to head the European technical function at Holcim. The role combines people management with deep technical and process expertise in the building construction sector, supporting sales, engineering and senior leadership across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary regional technical team, including Regional Technical Managers and the Training & Digital Support Manager.
• Analyse European market trends, competitive products and regulatory codes to shape sales support strategies.
• Define, coordinate and develop technical tools such as BOQ calculations, planning designs and installation guidelines.
• Oversee creation of technical literature, specification documents and marketing materials.
• Manage technical training centres, ensuring harmonised programmes for contractors and representatives.
• Maintain field service excellence, health‑and‑safety standards and departmental performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams in the construction or building‑materials industry.
• Strong understanding of European construction codes, approvals and market dynamics.
• Ability to translate technical knowledge into sales‑enablement tools and training programmes.
• Excellent communication skills to act as a bridge between sales, engineering and senior management.
