Textile Designer

About the role

We are looking for a creative Textile Designer to develop original fabric concepts that align with market trends and customer needs. The role involves translating fashion insights into tangible designs, collaborating closely with sampling, production, sales and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original textile and fabric designs based on market trends and customer requirements.
• Research fashion, textile, and colour trends to generate fresh design ideas.
• Create design presentations, mood boards and seasonal collections.
• Produce CAD designs using textile design software.
• Coordinate with sampling and production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Support sales and marketing teams with customer requests and product development.
• Select appropriate yarns, weaves, colours and finishing techniques for new developments.
• Review fabric samples and recommend modifications to improve aesthetics and functionality.
• Maintain design libraries, artwork files and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with quality standards and production capabilities.
• Participate in customer meetings to present design concepts when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts, Textile Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in textile or fabric design.
• Strong creativity, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with textile CAD software.
• Knowledge of fabric construction, weaving techniques, yarn types and textile finishing.
• Understanding of colour theory and colour matching.
• Familiarity with textile manufacturing processes.
