Track Assistant Technician

About the role

The Track Assistant Technician supports the maintenance team in keeping railway tracks safe and operational. Working under the direction of technicians and engineers, you will carry out routine inspections, assist with repairs, and ensure all activities follow strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect tracks using visual assessments and measuring equipment, reporting any damage or abnormalities.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain tools and equipment required for scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Attend daily briefings, receive task assignments, and communicate progress to engineers.
• Report safety non‑conformities promptly and adhere to all safety procedures.
• Perform trackside cleaning and provide assistance during maintenance operations.
• Promote a positive safety culture and participate in safety meetings.

Required profile

• Any educational level; a basic understanding of track and turnout elements is preferred.
• 0‑3 years of experience in railway track maintenance or a related team environment.
• Willingness to work shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.

Required skills

• Track inspection techniques.
• Use of measuring equipment for condition monitoring.
