Underground Construction Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a high‑performing Underground Construction Supervisor to lead our field construction crew at the Sukari gold mine. You will drive a culture of safety excellence while coordinating resources, equipment and labour to meet critical underground production and construction targets.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce operational and risk‑prevention standards, ensure SOP compliance, conduct daily inspections and maintain a zero‑harm environment.
• Execute weekly and monthly paste‑pipe installation plans, oversee paste‑wall and barricade construction, manage material consumption and lead emergency response for pipe blockages.
• Supervise installation of mine infrastructure such as ventilation walls, airlocks, DBRs, concrete slabs and general repairs according to engineering designs.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the construction crew and maintain close communication with Underground Shift Bosses, UG Maintenance and Paste Plant Operators.
• Prepare accurate daily reports on crew activities, material usage and project progress.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of experience in hydraulic or paste backfill operations within an underground mining environment.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Relevant educational qualification supporting the role.
• Proven experience operating underground equipment such as Integrated Toolcarriers and scissor lifts.
• Hands‑on knowledge of air‑leg (jackleg, stopper) drills and extensive experience with mine infrastructure and concrete construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering and construction designs.
