Upgrades Project Engineer

About the role

The Upgrades Project Engineer will lead upgrade projects for Tetra Pak filling machines and processing equipment across Egypt and the Arabian market. Based in Cairo, the role combines process design, project planning in SAP, risk and financial management, and on‑site execution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage three types of upgrade projects: pre‑designed kits for filling machines, pre‑designed kits for processing equipment, and custom process design for processing equipment.
• Design processes using CAD/SSP Designer software and create engineering documentation.
• Prepare accurate cost calculations, quotations and lead budgeting for each project.
• Define project scope, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and control scope changes.
• Identify, plan and control project risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate stakeholder communication and report progress and KPIs.
• Apply global processes, tools, guidelines and templates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Organise the project team, define roles and ensure efficient collaboration.
• Travel to customer sites to manage on‑site execution, commissioning and project closing.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and share best practices.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in process engineering, commissioning, process design or a related technical discipline.
• Hands‑on experience in process optimisation, commissioning activities and engineering design projects.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical documentation skills.
• Project management experience is a strong advantage.
