Urban Designer – Master Planning & Design

About the role

AtkinsRealis is expanding its Urban Design practice in Cairo and is looking for a motivated Urban Designer to contribute to master‑planning and urban design projects across property, infrastructure and transportation sectors worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop master‑planning and urban‑design concepts using 3D and digital media under senior supervision.
• Prepare drawings, graphics, models and reports from concept through detailed design stages.
• Draft technical reports and contractual documents to a high presentation standard.
• Work to project programmes, flag issues early and advise senior team members.
• Set and agree design standards and parameters with senior staff.
• Lead interdisciplinary technical coordination when required.
• Assign work, guide junior team members and use business‑related software independently.
• Identify and pursue additional work opportunities on assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with regional design standards, codes and regulations.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in master‑planning projects at a reputable firm.
• Middle‑East experience (UAE/KSA) is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design or Architecture with relevant project experience.
• Chartered status is a plus.
• Strong communication, methodical decision‑making and ability to guide junior staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D modeling and digital design tools.
• Competence with business‑related software for project documentation.
