Assistant Category Manager

About the role

Talabat is looking for an Assistant Category Manager to drive growth for its flagship grocery store, tMart. You will own the end‑to‑end category management process, from assortment planning to pricing, promotions and supplier relations, across multiple Middle‑East markets.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of category assortment, pricing, offers and supply for assigned product groups.
• Monitor economic performance (sales, gross margin, P&L) and ensure alignment with the commercial strategy.
• Define and maintain local assortments, integrate basic assortments, and provide regional teams with product quantity forecasts.
• Select and negotiate with local suppliers, managing cost, discounts, rebates and payment terms.
• Set prices according to guidelines, conduct market price audits and manage country‑specific promotion calendars.
• Collaborate with operations, tools, templates and fixtures teams to ensure smooth execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing multiple product categories in large retail or FMCG environments.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional projects and build high‑performing teams.
• Detail‑oriented, structured, and capable of prioritising tasks to deliver solutions.
• Willingness to take on any task needed for project success, including hands‑on warehouse work or customer support.
