Assistant Manager, Advisory & Capital Markets (ACMA)

About the role

The Advisory & Capital Markets (ACMA) department earns advisory fees for specialist services such as capital raising, growth strategies including M&A, corporate restructuring, company valuations and due diligence. This Assistant Manager role supports the development and operation of the department and helps the bank act as a centre of excellence in African trade matters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform valuation and financial analyses to support decision making
• Carry out investment appraisals using various techniques and methodologies
• Prepare and analyse financial models and financial statements
• Develop and draft term sheets for transactions according to client requests and the Bank's evaluation
• Draft teaser presentations and information memorandums for clients
• Manage the department's pipeline
• Evaluate scope of work and terms of reference, and manage the selection of consultants for due diligence
• Attend internal and external meetings on behalf of the department
• Drive investor outreach and networking, and liaise with other departments to obtain client feedback

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field from a recognised university, backed by at least 5 years of experience
• Ability to communicate and work in a culturally diverse, change-oriented setting
• Excellent verbal and written English; French, Arabic and Portuguese are an added advantage
• Ability to interact with senior officials of banks, corporates and governments
• Organised, able to manage a workload with limited supervision
