Back End Developer – Full‑time (Cairo)

About the role

Velocity Group is looking for a full‑time Back End Developer to join its Cairo office. You will design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems, APIs and databases that power modern web and SaaS applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Node.js, Python or PHP.
• Develop and optimise relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and manage data modelling, indexing and queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization and API security measures.
• Integrate third‑party services such as payment gateways, email platforms, CRM and AI APIs.
• Work with Supabase components (PostgreSQL, Auth, RLS, Storage, Edge Functions) and serverless architectures.
• Maintain version control with Git/GitHub and manage deployments using Docker, Linux servers and cloud platforms (Azure, DigitalOcean, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Collaborate with front‑end developers, UI/UX designers and project managers in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer building scalable, secure applications.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, databases, APIs and performance optimisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
