Business Development Principal

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is looking for a Business Development Principal to oversee the core business of the company and lead the delivery of all existing partners' projects. The role reports to the Business Development Manager and sits at senior to lead level. It covers commercial accounts, payment strategy for merchants and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall sales activities, source leads and turn them into clients who reach sales quotas, while developing new business opportunities and keeping customer satisfaction high with Customer Merchants.
• Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs, and guide merchants in crafting and executing a regional payments strategy.
• Build strong relationships with key personnel at merchants and coordinate with other departments on merchant-related internal projects.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to improve the merchant experience and support their professional growth.
• Gather merchant feedback, evaluate evolving merchant needs and communicate it to product and management teams.
• Meet strategic and financial targets for assigned merchant accounts through strategic account plans, internal reporting and merchant feedback.
• Oversee the core business, lead delivery for existing partner projects and manage teams responsible for commercial accounts and operational execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
• 4 to 7 years of experience; banking or telecommunications background is mandatory.
• Professional experience in the payment industry or telecom, with proven skills and polish.
• Explicit experience in account management or a related field is a significant plus.
• Experience in DCB and VAS, and in the EMEA region, is an advantage.
