Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager leads the end‑to‑end tender process, ensuring high‑quality proposals that meet customer requirements and drive business growth. This role combines market awareness, technical narrative development, and risk management to deliver competitive offers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and complete Pre‑Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs) and full tender documents.
• Maintain and update a master bidders list by commodity, tracking capabilities, performance, quality and pricing.
• Coordinate tender activities across the organisation, issue notifications and enforce deadlines.
• Review tender documentation, perform quality checks and ensure compliance with policies.
• Research market pricing, benchmark competitors and support pricing strategy.
• Collaborate with marketing to design professional tender templates and strategies.
• Develop and manage a tender dashboard to track history, outcomes and performance.
• Lead tender meetings, integrate key questions and answers, and oversee tender implementation when awarded.
• Establish standard contract templates, manage distribution of drafts and final contracts, and maintain an internal contract management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of professional experience, including 4‑7 years in a similar commercial/tender management role.
• Strong market awareness and ability to assess commercial risks.
• MBA or Master’s degree in a related field is desirable.
