Purchasing & Category Manager – Retail Mall

About the role

The Purchasing & Category Manager will develop and implement purchasing and category‑management strategies for a retail mall, ensuring product availability, profitability and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with sales, profit and inventory goals.
• Manage the full purchasing cycle: supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, order issuance and delivery follow‑up.
• Monitor inventory levels, fast‑moving and slow‑moving stock, and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with warehouse, sales, finance and mall‑management teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct market surveys, competitor analysis and introduce new products and suppliers.
• Lead, supervise and develop the purchasing team across product categories.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Over 15 years of purchasing and category‑management experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in the retail sector, preferably household products/homeware within malls or hypermarkets.
• Strong analytical, planning and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (preferred).
