Control Assessor (BCC Cairo)

About the role

Bupa is looking for a Control Assessor in Cairo to deliver first-line Key Control testing across UKI, including Functions, and to support Bupa Global control testing where required. The role reports to the Key Control Manager in BCC Cairo and helps evidence that controls are designed and operating effectively, with a focus on customer outcomes, regulatory expectations and operational discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Complete first-line Key Control testing across UKI, including Functions, and support Bupa Global activity where required
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls and document outcomes clearly, so conclusions, evidence, gaps and rationale can stand up to review by management, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit or regulators
• Agree SMART actions with control owners, track them to closure and give clear, constructive feedback
• Support control testing in regulated areas such as conduct risk, financial crime, data quality, third-party oversight and operational resilience
• Contribute to control performance reporting, findings summaries and action tracking
• Escalate control issues, evidence gaps and recurring themes, and prepare for RCSA activity, second-line assurance reviews, Internal Audit and regulatory queries
• Stay up to date with regulatory, policy and operational requirements and complete required training

Required profile

• Experience in control testing, assurance, monitoring, operations, compliance, risk management or a regulated business is desirable
• Understanding of processes, risks and key control points, and awareness of FCA rules, ICOBS principles and Treating Customers Fairly requirements
• Ability to follow testing scripts, gather evidence and document conclusions; strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail and record keeping, and ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong collaboration across UKI, Functions, Bupa Global and second and third line colleagues

Required skills

• PC literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Ability to use risk, control, workflow or reporting tools as required
