Legal & Business Affairs Manager

About the role

The Legal & Business Affairs Manager will run the day‑to‑day legal function of ArpuPlus, acting as a hands‑on partner to commercial, A&R, content and cross‑functional teams. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Business Affairs, the role focuses on high‑volume contract drafting, licensing and regulatory matters within the music business.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for legal and contractual requests from commercial, A&R, marketing and other teams.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements, including artist and content distribution deals, music licensing, publishing, label, producer, vendor and supplier contracts.
• Handle rights, royalties and intellectual property matters such as copyright and neighbouring rights, and protect the company’s catalogue.
• Ensure contracts comply with Egyptian law, company policies and industry best practices, coordinating with collecting societies and regulators.
• Review agreements with foreign labels, distributors and digital platforms for local and international compliance.
• Advise internal stakeholders in plain language on contractual rights, obligations and risks.
• Provide legal guidance on business decisions, regulatory requirements and risk mitigation.
• Support resolution of disputes, infringement claims and coordinate with external counsel.
• Maintain contract templates, records and conduct legal research to stay current with industry trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (English Section required).
• 2‑4 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in media, entertainment, music or technology sectors.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and contract interpretation abilities, capable of managing routine matters end‑to‑end.
