Procurement Specialist – University Procurement

About the role

The university is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage and optimise all purchasing activities in line with institutional policies. You will support the procurement team in sourcing, evaluating and acquiring goods and services both locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure procurement processes comply with university policies and maintain transparency, cost‑effectiveness and fairness.
• Maintain and regularly update the supplier database and stock register.
• Prepare and manage procurement documentation such as RFQs, RFPs, purchase orders, bid openings and tender files.
• Collect quotations, obtain approvals, and coordinate with vendors to resolve contractual issues.
• Inspect, tag and record received supplies to verify quality, quantity and condition.
• Process payment requests, liaise with finance for approvals and follow‑up on releases.
• Support the technical team with procurement requests and monitor open purchase requisitions and orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in an academic or large‑organisation setting.
• Strong communication, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Excellent command of English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
