Senior Software Engineer - Structural Optimization Tools

About the role

VAES.ai, a tech startup incubated within the engineering firm e.construct, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer collaborates with Computational Structural Engineers to build automation tools for engineering design, using Python libraries and integrating with industry-standard structural software such as ETABS, Autodesk Revit and OpenSees.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for structural optimization
• Manage the development process from initial idea to final release
• Gather requirements with stakeholders and test software components
• Design and implement scalable software solutions
• Mentor and lead a team of junior Software Engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• 5-12 years of software development experience
• Proven experience leading teams and developing software
• Solid geometrical and mathematical background is very helpful

Required skills

• Python and software design practices
• Scalable software development
• Desirable: C#, scientific computation libraries (numpy, scikit-spatial, shapely, openseespy), PySide6 or Tkinter, MVVM design patterns
