Senior Tax Planning & Preparation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Planning & Preparation Specialist to deliver comprehensive tax preparation, compliance, and proactive planning services for high‑net‑worth individuals and families. The role involves managing complex individual and entity returns while collaborating closely with clients to develop year‑round tax strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for high‑net‑worth clients.
• Handle individual, trust, estate, partnership, S‑corporation, and related business tax filings.
• Analyze tax documents, investment activity, K‑1s, brokerage statements, and real‑estate transactions.
• Calculate and monitor quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Research complex tax matters, document conclusions, and identify planning opportunities.
• Assist with IRS and state tax notices, examinations, and correspondence.
• Develop proactive, year‑round tax planning strategies and scenario analyses.
• Advise clients on estimated payments, capital gains, charitable giving, retirement, and business ownership decisions.
• Coordinate with clients’ CPAs, attorneys, and financial advisors.
• Conduct year‑end tax planning meetings and provide actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Several years of experience preparing and planning taxes for high‑net‑worth individuals and entities.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to identify sophisticated tax‑saving opportunities while ensuring compliance.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly.
