Senior Technical Sales Engineer – Solar Energy

About the role

OTAK Trading & Contracting is expanding its solar portfolio and seeks a Senior Technical Sales Engineer to drive growth in mega‑scale and utility‑scale solar PV projects, large C&I applications, off‑grid and hybrid systems, energy storage, and solar pumping solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new solar energy business opportunities across Egypt.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, developers, and EPC contractors.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, and contract closure.
• Achieve assigned sales targets while ensuring profitability and commercial margins.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, specifications, drawings and BOQs to develop technically sound solutions.
• Conduct site visits, perform load analysis, and design solar PV systems, including sizing, layout, single‑line diagrams, and energy yield calculations.
• Select and evaluate PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, ESS/BESS, transformers, and protection devices.
• Prepare value‑engineered proposals that balance performance, reliability, and cost.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in solar energy sales and engineering.
• Strong business development skills and a track record of closing large‑scale projects.
• Excellent understanding of utility‑scale, C&I, off‑grid, hybrid, and storage applications.
• Ability to work onsite in New Cairo and travel for client meetings and site assessments.

Required skills

• Solar PV system design and sizing.
• Electrical calculations and single‑line diagram (SLD) preparation.
• Energy yield analysis.
• Selection of PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, and energy storage components (ESS/BESS).
• Load analysis and battery sizing for off‑grid and hybrid solutions.
• Technical evaluation of transformers and protection devices.
