Assistant Professor – Digital Humanities (Literature)

About the role

Nile University’s School of Digital Humanities is seeking an Assistant Professor to join its faculty in the field of Literature. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Language and Literature, with a focus on transcultural identity, comparative literature, and digital culture.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English Language and Literature.
• Develop, review, and continuously improve course syllabi, teaching materials, and assessment methods.
• Supervise undergraduate graduation projects and postgraduate theses and dissertations.
• Conduct high‑quality scholarly research and publish in reputable, peer‑reviewed international journals.
• Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and curriculum development processes.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring to support student success.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary teaching, research, and community‑engagement initiatives.
• Participate in academic, administrative, and professional service activities at the school and university levels.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Literature, Comparative Literature, Digital Humanities, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and student supervision.
• Strong record of scholarly publications in reputable peer‑reviewed journals.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research involving digital tools applied to humanities subjects.
• Evidence of contribution to academic service, quality assurance, and accreditation activities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
