Depot Technician

About the role

The Depot Technician supports the Depot Engineer in managing depots and workshops, ensuring that building and facilities operations meet the objectives set by the Building and Facilities Management Unit. The role combines technical maintenance of MEP systems with coordination of subcontractors and reporting duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Depot Engineer in overseeing depot and workshop management.
• Perform planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and condition monitoring for HVAC, firefighting, dewatering, electrical and other MEP systems.
• Provide status reports on failures and work progress to the BFM staff.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Initiate, track, and follow up on planned maintenance requests.
• Participate in teamwork, including occasional work outside normal hours.
• Perform general tasks as required to support depot operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance environments and projects.
• Experience with change‑management culture and improvement methods.
• Familiarity with railway operations is a plus.
• Proficiency with EAM systems such as Maximo.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, firefighting, dewatering, electrical).
• Use of Maximo or similar EAM software for maintenance planning.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate maintenance activities.
