Engineering Manager

About the role

CSI Global is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead off‑site engineering for a utility‑scale solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) program in Zambia. The manager will head a multi‑disciplinary design review team based in Egypt, ensuring high‑quality engineering deliverables within contractual timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the off‑site engineering team covering electrical, civil, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Oversee technical review and compliance audit of EPC contractor submittals against codes, standards and project specifications.
• Manage the engineering review schedule, issuing technical comments within contractual periods.
• Coordinate interfaces between electrical, civil and structural engineering streams.
• Prepare and quality‑control Owner’s Engineer reports, feasibility studies and audit deliverables.
• Provide technical escalation support to the on‑site team for complex queries.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables before client or on‑site submission.
• Collaborate with Project Controls on progress tracking and reporting.
• Manage specialist sub‑consultants and support contract variation and claim processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven experience on utility‑scale solar PV and/or energy storage projects.
• Strong knowledge of EPC design review, technical specifications and international engineering standards.
• Experience in Owner’s Engineer or PMC roles is highly preferred.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring and English communication skills.
