Head Nurse – ICU

About the role

The Head Nurse – ICU leads the intensive care unit, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical excellence. This senior nursing position coordinates multidisciplinary teams, manages critical situations, and supports staff through emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all nursing activities within the ICU and ensure compliance with infection control and unit protocols.
• Coordinate patient care plans with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare and manage nursing schedules, monitor staffing levels, and evaluate staff performance.
• Lead recruitment, orientation, and onboarding of ICU nurses.
• Monitor medication administration, documentation accuracy, and compliance with accreditation standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Identify training needs, conduct clinical coaching, and support continuous education.
• Oversee ICU supplies, equipment availability, and prepare operational reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a valid nursing license.
• Minimum 5–7 years of nursing experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior ICU role.
• Experience in accredited hospitals is preferred.
• Strong leadership, critical‑thinking, and crisis‑management abilities.
