HSE Engineer

About the role

Dawam Business Solutions is looking for an HSE Engineer for a full-time position in the construction sector, based in El Manoula. The engineer designs, implements, communicates and coordinates all environmental, health and safety programmes for the projects, gives technical and administrative direction on HSE decisions, and directs site resources and activities to support those programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hazard and risk assessments and develop or update recommendations from them.
• Provide regular written reports and updates to the QHSE Section head and take part in safety meetings across company locations.
• Carry out site visits and audits, and monitor project HSE activities against the company's management system.
• Establish and implement the HSE Management System and the Permit to Work system, and train relevant personnel.
• Implement site HSE training programmes and emergency action plans, investigate accidents, set preventive measures and record accident statistics.
• Support discipline supervisors, conduct regular safety and security patrols, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure project HSE policies, plans and procedures are implemented effectively and report performance and issues.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction field.
• Experience in facilities management in residential towers.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or agriculture.
• Very good English and Arabic reading, writing and speaking skills.

Required skills

• Excellent use of Microsoft Office and internet tools and browsers.
• Strong communication, time management, attention to detail, organisation, leadership, monitoring, relationship building, troubleshooting and reporting skills.
