About the role
Dahua Technology, a leading video‑centric IoT solutions provider, is building a dedicated legal function for its Middle East and North Africa operations. Based in Cairo, the Legal Counsel will act as the primary legal resource for Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, supporting business teams and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for distribution, supply and deployment of video surveillance products.
- Advise business units on contractual risks, obligations and dispute‑resolution mechanisms across common‑law and civil‑law jurisdictions.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments and terminations.
- Support corporate governance, maintain legal records, corporate registrations and statutory filings.
- Implement and monitor compliance programmes covering anti‑bribery, data privacy, competition law, labour regulations and product compliance.
- Design and deliver legal and compliance training for regional staff.
- Oversee commercial disputes, litigation and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
- Provide proactive legal advice to business development and project teams, identifying and mitigating risks early.
- Liaise with Regional (UAE) and Global (China) Legal Affairs to ensure consistent standards.
Required profile
- Law degree (LLB or LLM) from a recognised university.
- Admission to practice law in Egypt or another MENA jurisdiction is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably with a reputable law firm.
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating commercial distribution, supply and project agreements.
- Fluent Arabic and French, professional English.
