Medical Technologist II (Core Lab)

About the role

The Core Laboratory Technologist II performs moderate and high‑complexity clinical assays, provides advanced troubleshooting, and trains new staff within Sonic Healthcare USA’s Core Lab. The role follows all departmental and OSHA policies while contributing to daily workflow and special projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute moderate and high‑complexity clinical assays according to SOPs.
• Maintain quality control, analytical performance, and safety standards.
• Enter, verify, and review data in the clinical LIMS system.
• Conduct instrument‑to‑instrument and carry‑over studies, calibration verification, and lot‑to‑lot performance tracking.
• Train peers on bench processes and assess technical competency.
• Process inventory in ProcureIT, manage supply counts, and coordinate ordering.
• Assist R&D and senior technologists with validations and special projects.
• Participate in instrument maintenance, vendor scheduling, and troubleshooting of reagent or instrument issues.
• Maintain a clean work area, document quality control assessments, and file production run documentation.

Required profile

• Experience performing moderate and high‑complexity clinical assays.
• Ability to troubleshoot laboratory instruments and resolve technical issues.
• Capability to train new staff and assess technical competency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a clinical Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Instrument operation, calibration, and verification.
• Quality control assessment and documentation.
• Inventory management using ProcureIT.
