Medication Procurement Supervisor

About the role

The Medication Procurement Supervisor leads the sourcing and purchasing of pharmaceutical products across a network of hospitals. This role ensures cost‑effective, timely, and compliant acquisition of medicines while supporting the overall supply chain strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and evaluate alternative suppliers based on quality, price, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare price analyses, cost comparisons, and support supplier negotiations to secure competitive contracts.
• Generate purchase orders, agreements, and award notifications, and monitor contract signatures and expirations.
• Compare cost rates across hospitals, identify reduction opportunities, and implement approved alternatives.
• Provide analytical support for bids, tenders, and procurement deals using purchase price data and consumption trends.
• Produce regular reports on procurement activities, purchasing trends, and pricing analysis.
• Coordinate with procurement teams and affiliated hospitals to align purchasing practices and share tender insights.
• Maintain supplier communication, monitor performance, manage expired or near‑expiry products, and handle excess inventory.
• Ensure compliance with tender terms, corporate deals, and regulatory requirements while driving process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• 5–7 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement or supply chain, including at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
