On Site Engineer – Desktop & Incident Support

About the role

The On Site Engineer provides Level 1 incident management, ensuring desktop availability and application functionality for users at the designated site. You will act as the primary IT point of contact, handling day‑to‑day support, change implementation, and asset management while maintaining system security and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver desktop and end‑user support, including login, password, and patch management.
• Identify and resolve Level 1 incidents, following Sykes change control procedures.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly operational checklists.
• Manage user lifecycle actions (adds, moves, changes) for the site.
• Perform IT asset inventory, disposal, and documentation.
• Provide remote‑hands assistance to remote engineers and act as facilities backup for power infrastructure.
• Ensure 24 × 7 availability for critical issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• 1–4 years of relevant desktop support experience.
• Good command of English (minimum B1).
• Ability to work independently and communicate with both technical and non‑technical staff.

Required skills

• Windows client operating systems.
• Microsoft Office 2013/2016/O365.
• Windows Server administration (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, OUs, Groups).
• Knowledge of MCSE and CCNA concepts (certifications preferred).
• LAN/WAN fundamentals, switching, routing, wireless, TCP/IP.
• Proxy server configuration.
• Microsoft SharePoint 2013 (plus).
• Backup and restore procedures (plus).
• Basic VMware virtualization.
