Plant Manager

About the role

The Plant Manager leads end‑to‑end operations of a food production facility, ensuring production targets, product quality, safety and financial performance are met. This senior role drives continuous improvement, oversees maintenance, and cultivates a high‑performing, safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Direct plant operations to achieve volume, yield, efficiency and service level goals while optimizing labor, material and asset utilization.
• Lead health, safety and food safety programs, ensuring compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, BRC, GMP and local regulations.
• Own the plant budget, monitor cost per ton, conversion cost and overheads, and implement cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Manage maintenance and engineering excellence, driving preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, reliability engineering and capital projects.
• Develop and coach multi‑functional teams, building second‑line leadership and succession pipelines.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste and enhance process stability.
• Coordinate with supply chain, quality, HR, procurement and commercial functions, and lead audits and regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale manufacturing or food production plants.
• Strong leadership with a track record of building high‑performing, safety‑focused teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial KPIs and cost‑control initiatives.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
