Purchasing Manager – Food Background

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager with a food background to lead the procurement of raw materials and spare parts. The role ensures timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost‑effective purchasing while coordinating with multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify raw material and spare part requirements and select suitable suppliers.
• Request, compare quotations and negotiate best prices and terms.
• Issue and follow up purchase orders until delivery, ensuring on‑time receipt.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve supply issues and reduce purchasing costs.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance and Finance departments.
• Maintain stock levels to avoid shortages and production stoppages.
• Develop alternative suppliers for critical items and prepare purchasing, supplier and price reports for management.
• Manage and supervise the procurement team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Experience purchasing raw materials and spare parts.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
