Senior Backend Engineer – TypeScript

About the role

mylo is a fast‑growing fintech platform in Egypt that offers buy‑now‑pay‑later solutions. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong TypeScript expertise to own the design, implementation and scalability of our core services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain clean, modern APIs that power the frontend experience.
• Integrate the platform with external systems and legacy services.
• Ensure high performance, reliability and scalability of backend services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to foster a safe, inclusive and growth‑focused culture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep knowledge of TypeScript and object‑oriented programming principles.
• Proven experience delivering autonomous, service‑oriented RESTful APIs at scale.
• Strong background with relational and non‑relational databases (SQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase, Redis).
• Hands‑on experience building microservice architectures.
• Ability to write comprehensive unit, integration and API tests.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and scripting (Bash/Shell) is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and immutable infrastructure concepts is a strong advantage.
• Background in loan management or core banking systems is a plus.
