Senior Backend Software Engineer (Java/Kotlin)

About the role

Patient21 is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help build a disruptive health‑tech platform. You will join an international team that works with modern technologies to give patients full transparency over their treatment and enable clinics to collaborate more efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new micro‑service based backend solutions using Java and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with product and front‑end teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Write clean, testable code and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Apply continuous integration and deployment practices in a cloud‑native environment.
• Integrate with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ and manage containerised workloads on Docker and Kubernetes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing backend systems with Java and/or Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Solid experience with the Spring Framework and relational SQL databases.
• Proficiency in building and deploying containerised applications.
• English working proficiency.
