Senior Commissioning Engineer – Turbine Island

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer for the Turbine Island of a nuclear power project. You will provide technical input, support, and guidance while interfacing directly with the customer and internal Worley teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate as‑built documentation and engineering studies for Turbine Island mechanical systems.
• Develop, review and validate commissioning, operating and maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Participate in project meetings and commissioning working groups, coordinating with engineering teams to resolve start‑up and performance testing issues.
• Verify system functionality, safety interlocks and operational parameters against design intent and regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering support during initial operation phases, including troubleshooting and optimisation.
• Review and validate commissioning records, test reports and system acceptance documentation.
• Assess training materials and records related to Turbine Island design and operation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s beneficial) with a focus on Power Generation and Energy.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in nuclear power plant development, including commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of water properties, thermodynamics, thermohydraulics and hydrodynamics.
• Experience with pressure/vacuum vessels, rotating equipment, valves, heat exchangers, pipelines and related codes and standards.
• Familiarity with measurement and control of thermohydraulic processes.
• Ability to analyse, communicate, influence and persuade.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; additional Russian language knowledge is a plus.
