Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to Hikma’s operations in Egypt, ensuring compliance with local regulations and the broader MENA legal framework. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, advising on legal matters, and overseeing corporate governance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal contracts for internal and external parties, ensuring completeness and compliance.
• Provide legal opinions on issues affecting the business in Egypt and develop/maintain relevant policies and SOPs.
• Prepare and file corporate resolutions, liaise with governmental authorities, and maintain the legal status of all Hikma entities in Egypt.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day departmental operations to meet established standards and procedures.
• Interact with external legal advisors, ministries, and other stakeholders, managing and supervising litigation matters with external law firms.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in Egyptian and MENA legal environments.
• Proven track record in contract drafting, negotiation and corporate governance.
• Strong ability to interpret and apply legal frameworks to business decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external authorities.
