Software/CAD Engineer – Physical Design

About the role

We are seeking a Software/CAD Engineer to join our CES‑3DIC team in Cairo. You will help develop innovative software and workflow solutions for advanced 2.5D and 3D System‑in‑Package designs, integrating Siemens EDA and MCAD tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and document software modules for physical design, place‑and‑route, and 3D packaging.
• Develop scalable, automated workflows using Python, Tcl/Tk, Bash and other scripting languages.
• Identify and resolve complex physical design, packaging, tool, or workflow issues.
• Improve flows and methodologies for performance, power, and area (PPA) optimization on advanced nodes.
• Support integration of floorplanning, placement, routing, power and signal integrity, and physical verification for 3D ICs.
• Collaborate with CAD, packaging, and implementation teams to drive innovation.
• Manage design data and EDA infrastructure, including tool installation, server setup, and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years or Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and experience with ASIC physical design methodologies.

Required skills

• Python, Tcl/Tk, Bash/Shell scripting.
• Windows and Linux development environments.
• Flow managers, Makefiles, and complex workflow building.
• Design data management and EDA tool installation/maintenance.
• ASIC physical design processes: floorplanning, placement, routing, CTS, timing closure, physical verification.
