Agricultural Engineer / Product Owner

About the role

Salem Foods is seeking a senior Agricultural Engineer who will also act as Product Owner for its emerging Salem Foods Platform. Based in the Maadi office, you will oversee farming operations across multiple farms while shaping the IoT and AI‑driven decision‑making system that supports those operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute crop cycles for all farms, covering irrigation, fertigation, pest control, harvesting and replanting.
• Standardise SOPs and ensure consistent execution across the portfolio.
• Serve as the central decision‑making hub in Cairo, supervising farm‑level agricultural engineers.
• Travel regularly to farms to validate data, observe practices and feed insights back into the platform.
• Define product direction for the Salem Foods Platform together with the engineering team at Salem Ventures.
• Translate agronomic knowledge into clear product requirements for the AI decision‑making layer.
• Run proof‑of‑concepts on farms to compare AI recommendations with ground‑truth observations.

Required profile

• BSc in Agricultural Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized Egyptian university.
• Strong agronomic foundation with hands‑on field experience.
• Analytical, data‑driven mindset with the ability to challenge assumptions.
• Comfortable working with technology such as dashboards, sensors and AI‑driven workflows.
• Excellent written and spoken English; articulate communication.
• Valid driver’s license.
