AI Agent Engineer

About the role

We are building production AI agents that transform how our engineering organization ships code and how employees access internal knowledge. As part of a small, high‑ownership team you will design, implement, and operate the core logic, tools, data layer, and pipelines that make these agents reliable at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Implement agent logic, tooling, and orchestration based on the defined architecture.
• Build and fine‑tune Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines: ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, re‑ranking, and evaluation.
• Design and optimise Postgres schemas, queries, and vector indexes (pgvector) for production workloads.
• Develop the test‑generation and execution engine for the AI code pipeline.
• Integrate agents with Git, CI/CD, and internal developer services.
• Create evaluation harnesses, observability dashboards, and safety guardrails.
• Own reliability, latency, and cost targets for shipped systems.
• Write clean, typed, well‑tested Python code and actively participate in code reviews.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python.
• 1+ years building LLM or agentic systems, including tool use, function calling, orchestration, prompting, and evaluation.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills on ambiguous production issues.
• Solid experience with Postgres schema design, query optimisation, and extensions such as pgvector.
• Hands‑on experience shipping and operating production services with testing, CI/CD, observability, and on‑call responsibilities.
• Comfortable with Git‑based workflows and code review processes.
