Application Design Engineer (SCADA & Automation)

About the role

AIS is looking for a skilled SCADA and RTU engineer to design, deploy and maintain SCADA and analytics systems for process automation projects. The role covers developing hardware and software specifications, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues and contributing to digitalization initiatives, while leading small-to-medium projects and working with cross-functional teams. Candidates must hold dual nationality due to international travel and project deployment requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement and maintain ASP SCADA systems for process automation projects
• Perform system integration, programming and customization according to project needs
• Carry out system testing, FAT/SAT, commissioning and provide remote or on-site site support
• Troubleshoot SCADA issues to keep plant operations running smoothly
• Interpret customer technical specifications and prepare implementation strategies
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and train customers
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and quality guidelines
• Contribute to dashboards, analytics and connectivity solutions, and plan project tasks and milestones

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related field
• 0-4 years of experience in industrial automation, SCADA, control systems, electrical engineering or instrumentation
• Interest in industrial automation, SCADA, control systems and digitalization
• Ability to learn new technologies and work in a project-driven environment
• Good English verbal and written communication
• Willingness to travel internationally and dual nationality (mandatory)

Required skills

• Basic understanding of PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, industrial communication protocols and automation systems
• Exposure to SCADA platforms via projects, internships or training is an advantage
• Preferred: familiarity with industrial networking (IP addressing, Ethernet) and protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA or MQTT
• Preferred: basic programming or scripting (Python, JavaScript, VBA, SQL) and familiarity with AVEVA ASP, WinCC or Ignition
