Arabic Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in 6 October, Egypt, is looking for an Arabic teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The school follows the SABIS educational system, and the teacher's purpose is to enable student success and help them reach their potential through the SABIS curriculum, philosophy and teaching methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Teach using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from pacing charts where needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used in class.
• Mark exams in line with the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Discuss disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and the head of department.
• Implement the SABIS point system to create a conducive learning environment.
• Invigilate exams and support low-performing students to help them improve and reach their potential.
• Prepare for and follow external exam preparation using past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Aid in duties such as testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing lunch and bus runs, traffic control and other administrative tasks assigned by school management.
• Help plan student life events such as art, open house and physical education with the student life coordinator.
• Attend training sessions requested by school management and carry out other tasks delegated by SABIS management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Arabic.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to meet employment requirements, including country and local education and certification requirements, reference checks and criminal background checks.
