Assistant Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Contract)

About the role

JLL is looking for an Assistant Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor with pre-contract experience, working on-site in Cairo. The role covers cost management and quantity surveying across pre-contract and post-contract consultancy services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare budget and pre-contract cost estimates, cost plans at various stages, and bills of quantities in standard formats
• Prepare pre-tender cost estimates and tender evaluation reports
• Manage the project's change control of additional works
• Take part in cost reporting and prepare budgets versus actual cost reconciliation reports
• Review measurement tasks using CostX or equivalent software
• Prepare cash flow forecasts for the project in all stages
• Attend commercial meetings with project stakeholders

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in the real estate sector
• Degree in a related subject such as BSc Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Architectural, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• Experience preferably in construction, fit-out and/or renovation projects
• Experience preferably in the Middle East, though not essential
• Excellent pre-contract technical cost and commercial management skills
• Strong attention to detail, good written and oral communication, and the ability to work under pressure

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard methods of measurement such as POMI, CSI, NRM1, NRM2 and others
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Cost estimation and quantity surveying software such as CostX, Plan Swift, Bluebeam or Candy is advantageous
